Plateful ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile application that helps people discover, share, and save dish recommendations from restaurants. The app is operated by Plateful, Bengaluru, India.
When you sign in with Google, we receive:
We store these in our database to create and maintain your Plateful profile.
When you use the search or recommendations features, we request access to your device's precise GPS location. We use this to show restaurants near you and personalise dish recommendations based on your area. Location data is used in real time and is not stored permanently unless you explicitly save a city preference.
We track the following actions to power personalised recommendations: dishes you view, save, or post, and users you follow or unfollow. This data is stored and processed to build a taste profile that drives your recommendations feed.
We do not collect advertising IDs or sell data to ad networks.
Profile pictures and dish images are uploaded to our storage and are accessible to anyone with the direct URL (publicly readable). You should not upload images you do not have the right to share publicly.

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, a third-party database and backend service. Data may be stored in data centres in the United States or European Union. Images are stored in object storage provided by Supabase. Public image URLs do not require authentication to access.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following:

Your username, display name, profile picture, dish posts, and follower/following counts are visible to all users of the app. If you delete a dish post, the image is also deleted from storage.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account:
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to processing for recommendations, and withdraw consent for location access via your device settings.

Plateful is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
In compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, users in India may raise grievances by contacting our designated Grievance Officer:

The Plateful mobile app does not use browser cookies. We use device storage (AsyncStorage) solely to maintain your authentication session locally on your device.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via the app or email.
